During periods of huge discounts on marketplaces, not only buyers but also fraudsters become more active.

Fraudsters are hunting for money from Russians who are trying to make the most profitable purchase.

Mass mailings of emails containing links to phishing sites continue to be popular, Lenta.ru reports.

We are talking about fake websites that are very similar to the online resource of a real online store.

People who order and pay for purchases on such sites lose money. In addition, the fraudsters get hold of the victim's banking information.

There is only one effective defense in this case. You need to double-check whether this or that store is really selling this item at such an attractive price.

To do this, you can go to the official website or application.

If the card details have already been entered, but it turns out that they are scammers, then you need to immediately block the account and card.

There is another situation. A person may come across a one-day page on the Internet. If the user decides to order a product through it, he is asked to contact the manager or seller in a messenger.

Then a simple deception scheme is implemented: the "manager" says that the product is out of stock, but the order can be re-issued. The victim is sent a fake link to enter bank data. The result is the same - loss of money.

Therefore, experts advise to remain vigilant when shopping online. Any suspicious information should be carefully checked.
