Scientists from Novosibirsk have reported a new breakthrough in the fight against cancer.

Russian specialists have invented a method for suppressing brain tumor cells.

Biologists have created a unique compound that affects the behavior of cells, preventing them from penetrating healthy tissue, TASS reports.

Soloxolone para-methylanilide (SPMA) is a compound that attacks tumor-stimulating processes.

The affected cells are treated with SPMA, which stops them from responding to the protein that stimulates their expansion.

A positive effect, for example, was obtained when studying the effect on glioblastoma cells.

Scientists also found that SPMA increases the sensitivity of tumors to the anti-cancer drug temozolomide.

Researchers note the high potential of the development. Already now, according to the creators, its effectiveness is in no way inferior to chemotherapy.
