Scientists have discovered which microbiomes from microwave ovens are capable of adapting to extreme conditions.
Some microbes, despite high temperatures and microwaves, feel comfortable in it
The results of the scientists' research were published in the scientific journal Frontiers in Microbiology .

During the experiment, samples were collected from the inner surface of 30 microwave ovens.
Many samples were found to contain bacteria commonly found on kitchen surfaces and food products.
Home microwaves differed from laboratory ones in the diversity of the microbial environment.
The most interesting species for scientists were those resistant to radiation, heat shock and desiccation.
The researchers also found that the microbes found in the laboratory microwaves were similar to those found on solar panels.
Scientists have recommended regularly cleaning microwave ovens with detergent to avoid the build-up of bacteria that can cause illness.
