Cybercriminals have expanded their capabilities to deceive Russians on the Internet.
Details were revealed by specialists from the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Department for Combating Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies.
First, the scammers create websites of fake wholesale stores and lure in the opportunity to purchase goods for little money.

In addition, such sites promise that orders can supposedly be paid for upon receipt.
But they must be confirmed by indicating your full name, address, and telephone number.
The victim then receives a message stating that the order has been sent.
To track your parcel, you are asked to follow the link and download a special application.
Under the guise of a safe program, scammers "slip" malware - the Mamont Trojan. With its help, attackers gain access to the victim's smartphone.
This is how cybercriminals extract all the information they are interested in: login details for banking applications, media files, documents, etc.
