FBI officials say attackers linked to Chinese group Salt Typhoon may have access to US telecommunications networks

American authorities recommend that their citizens communicate through encrypted applications.

In this case, the risk of personal information falling into the hands of foreign attackers is minimal, NBC News reports.

According to experts, representatives of the FBI and the Cybersecurity Agency came up with a similar idea.

The US authorities were perhaps the first to appeal to Americans to use encryption, although they had previously spoken out against it.

The reason for such requests is apparently related to the recent attack on US telecommunications systems.

According to one version, the attack was organized by members of the Chinese hacker group Salt Typhoon.

Moreover, the scammers' targets were the phone numbers of people from the headquarters of US presidential candidates Trump and Harris.

Encrypted text agreements and voice communications will leave no opportunity for attackers to decipher them.
