Actor from “The Return of Budulai” and Mikhail Boyarsky’s understudy Alexander Pestov Dies

Soviet and Russian film actor Alexander Pestov died at the age of 79.

For many years he was Mikhail Boyarsky's regular understudy.

Pestov was born on August 4, 1946 and worked in the Leningrad film industry for many years.

From 1970 to 1996 he was a member of the Lenfilm staff of actors and stuntmen.

In his youth he looked very much like Boyarsky, so he was his understudy for a long time.

Alexander Alexandrovich has more than 60 film projects to his credit.

On set, he mainly appeared as a stuntman and stunt coordinator.

In the film The Return of Budulai (1985) he played a cameo role.

Pestov also starred in the films “Bus Driver” (1983), “Customs” (1982), “December 20” (1981).

Alexander Alexandrovich’s experience and knowledge were in demand abroad.

Several times he was invited by foreign directors to work on stunts and action scenes.

Colleagues remembered Pestov as a person devoted to his work.

"A conscientious and professional stuntman worked on most of my film productions. Always proactive and competent," - this is how his colleague Dmitry Shulkin assessed Pestov.
