Famous Spanish actress Marisa Paredes has died.
She passed away at the age of 79.
The death of the famous actress was announced by the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences on its website.

The organization's statement emphasized: "Spanish cinema is left without its iconic actress."
Marisa Paredes, who was born in 1946, died at the age of 78.
Paredes' career began at the age of 14, when she made her debut in the 1960 film 091, Police Calls!
Over more than 60 years of professional career, the actress starred in 75 films.
Paredes was loved by the general public for her roles in the cult films High Heels, Flower of My Life, All About My Mother and others.
She gained particular fame thanks to her work with director Pedro Almodóvar, in whose films she played many striking roles.
