The famous conductor paid utility bills for the former owners of his home for 16 years.
Now Yuri Bashmet wants to restore justice through the courts.
This was reported by the RIA Novosti agency, citing a lawsuit filed for consideration in court.

According to the text of the document, in 2008 Bashmet became the owner of an apartment in Moscow. The housing was sold to the conductor as free from other persons.
However, it later turned out that six more people were registered in the apartment: the former owner of the property and five members of the latter’s family.
The plaintiff's representative explained that over the past 16 years, Bashmet had to pay utility bills for people who, in fact, did not live in the given living space.
She reminded that the amount of payments is calculated based on the number of people registered in the apartment.
The Tverskoy Court of Moscow is currently considering a case in which six people should be removed from the register and their right to use residential premises should be declared invalid.
