After leaving Russia, Khamatova decided to settle in Latvia. At first, everything went quite well.
Chulpan bought land and built a house, hoping that she would have a permanent residence permit, reports Rossiyskaya Gazeta .
But now, owning real estate does not guarantee a residence permit. An employment contract with a local employer is required.
At first, Khamatova worked at the Riga National Theatre, but then they refused to renew her contract.
Now the actress has found a job at the Dailes Theatre, which has helped her extend her residence permit for a year.
But the artist does not rule out that she will leave Latvia in the future and try to settle in another country.
Before leaving Russia in 2022, Khamatova worked at the Moscow Sovremennik Theatre since 1998.
