Moscow region surgeons performed an operation on a woman with a large tumor of the small intestine. It turned out to be malignant.
The Moscow Agency reports details with reference to the press service of the Moscow Region Ministry of Health and the head of the oncogynecology department No. 4, Irina Kargina.
It is noted that a woman aged 85 was admitted to the Moscow Regional Oncology Dispensary. She was diagnosed with a huge sarcoma of the small intestine.
A couple of years ago, the patient noted, she had abdominal pain and dealt with it with painkillers.
According to Kargina, the woman’s tumor reached 40 cm in diameter.
She noted that the doctors performed the operation and removed the tumor. The work was successful. Now the patient will undergo chemotherapy.
It is added that to prevent unpleasant situations it is worth visiting a gynecologist once a year.
