Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia is ready to negotiate on Ukraine.
In addition, according to the diplomat, Moscow expresses its consent to touch upon the topic of security in Europe.
Lavrov explained: “At the same time, we want to protect a possible future EU security agreement from double interpretations,” as reported by RIA Novosti .
As the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized, Russia took into account the “sad experience of consultations with Western countries and Ukraine.”
Moscow's position
Lavrov added: "We are interested in signing an agreement that, I hope, will resolve the Ukrainian crisis."
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry announced this information during a press conference following a meeting of the UN Security Council.
In addition, the diplomat indicated that Moscow intends to very carefully study the wording of a possible agreement.
According to Lavrov, the treaty must be protected from “repeated, unscrupulous, non-negotiable interpretations.”
