The head of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy, Artem Metelev, spoke about when the law banning trash streams will come into force in the country.
According to the official, the said bill is expected to be approved by the end of July 2024.
In his official Telegram channel, the deputy wrote: “The good news is that the decree will come into effect in the coming months.”
According to the official, conducting the relevant internet broadcasts will entail both administrative and criminal liability.
Firm position
The bill banning trash streams was adopted in February 2024 in the first reading.
It is indicated that such broadcasts are a demonstration of facts of illegal acts committed with particular cruelty.
It is also emphasized that such content will now be monitored and blocked by social media regulators.
Punishment for trash streams will entail criminal or administrative liability, including a fine of up to 700 thousand rubles.
