Some Russians prefer to celebrate the New Year in hot countries.
A vacation of this kind is often quite expensive.
The statistics are shared by the RIA Novosti agency with reference to information provided by the tour operator Space Travel.
The tour record-breaker, according to the service, is a two-week stay for a family of four in the Maldives. Staying in a villa on the water cost the couple with two children $240,000.
This price also included New Year's Eve on a yacht and exquisite dishes from the chef, as well as a personal live Christmas tree from the hotel.
In second place is a trip to Bali, which cost a family of four $140,000. The nine-day tour includes:
- VIP transfer with police motorcade escort;
- accommodation in a hotel decorated for the New Year;
- dishes from a specially invited chef;
- hot air balloon ride;
- meeting with Russian Father Frost and Snow Maiden, etc.
The selection also included a tour to Singapore and a trip to Southeast Asia, for which couples paid $88,000 and $62,000, respectively.
