The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has adopted a new bill concerning foreigners and their status on the territory of the Russian Federation.
If children of migrants receive the status of undesirable persons in Russia, their parents may be recognized as undesirable persons automatically.
This was reported by the TASS agency with reference to a document posted on the legal information portal.

It is noted that such measures may be applied to those citizens who have not yet reached the age of 18.
That is, if a minor migrant is recognized as an undesirable person, at the same time, documents will be prepared to recognize his legal guardians or parents as also undesirable.
A foreigner can be recognized as an undesirable person in the Russian Federation in the following cases:
- commission of an administrative or criminal offence;
- loss of identity documents;
- violation of transit rules;
- evasion of the obligation to leave the country upon expiration of the authorized period of stay.
The document comes into force on February 5, 2025.
