Law enforcement officials in the Moscow region have stated that the Superjet 100 airliner that crashed in the region managed to send out a distress signal.

The Moscow region police stated: “The Superjet 100 was heading towards Vnukovo Airport after repairs,” as reported by TASS .

Law enforcement officials added that there were only three crew members on board the plane.
