According to the Telegram channel of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, inspectors stopped a 42-year-old Muscovite in the green corridor.

The Russian woman's luggage background exceeded the norm by eleven times. The woman, as it turned out, was transporting a loose black substance.

Customs officers established that the passenger was carrying radioactive volcanic sand, which contains natural thorium-232.

The Yantar radiation monitoring system was triggered.

This radionuclide is hazardous to health, but the passenger did not know about it.

The goods were seized and left for long-term storage in a special room.

According to the decision of Rospotrebnadzor, the import of radioactive sand into Russia is not permitted.
