A stand-up comedian has come under scrutiny from Belarusian law enforcement for making jokes about Alexander Lukashenko.
39-year-old Slava Komissarenko is accused of slandering the President of Belarus.
The investigation into the artist was reported on the Telegram channel of the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Republic.

The work was initiated on August 15. Komissarenko is accused of three articles at once. Among them are slander against the president and insulting the head of state.
In addition, the comedian is accused of inciting social hatred.
The investigation is being conducted by officers of the Central District Department of the Investigative Committee for Minsk. Law enforcement officers have suggested that Komissarenko voluntarily appear for investigative measures.
The comedian had previously left Belarus. Since 2021, he has been banned from performing in the republic. He lived in Russia for some time, but later left the Russian Federation, explaining this by persecution by the Belarusian special services.
