Details of the trial of the person responsible for the accident in Saratov have become known.
Amir Rakhmatulin was found guilty and sentenced to serve 5 years in a general regime penal colony.
TASS reports this with reference to information received from the Volzhsky District Court of Saratov, where the case was heard under the article on violation of traffic rules, which resulted in the death of two people.
It is noted that lawyer Alexander Besarab, representing the interests of the convicted man, considers the sentence to be unreasonably harsh, since his client admitted his guilt in full and compensated for the damage.
The question of appealing the verdict will be decided after negotiations with Rakhmatullin.
Circumstances of the case
The accident, which resulted in two deaths, occurred on July 22, 2024.
On this day, a Lada Granta driven by Rakhmatulin collided with a MAN truck. One of the victims of the accident was the 17-year-old son of the regional governor Busargin, who later thanked everyone who cared about his grief.
