The first historical trail race took place in the Vologda Region. TASS reports details with reference to the race organizers.
It is noted that the race repeated the route of the Reverend Ferapont in the 14th century. More than 500 people from different Russian regions took part in it.
According to the organizers, the participants covered distances of 7, 20 and 30 km.
It was also noted that the competition began with children's races over a distance of 1 km.
It is also known that during the race, the participants could enjoy the view of monasteries, churches and villages. In addition, on the way they encountered dense vegetation, old roads, and a forest area.
In the 14th century, Ferapont, aged 60, arrived from the Russian capital to a place with lakes and forests. There he wanted to be with the monk Kirill.
