It has become known what recommendation the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has made to Russians.
In anticipation of the upcoming New Year holidays, the department recommended that citizens pay attention to the validity period of their foreign passports.
The corresponding appeal was posted in the organization’s materials, which are at the disposal of RIA Novosti .
The ministry reminded that the pre-holiday period is the period when people most often apply to exchange old documents for new ones.
It falls on the days before New Year, as well as on the spring months preceding the holidays - from March to June.
In this regard, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded that it is better to check the validity of the identity document in advance and exchange it for a new foreign passport.
If this is done in advance, such a step will help avoid queues at the department and the creation of excitement during the pre-New Year period.
You can exchange your old document for a new one in any of the ways convenient for a Russian citizen:
- by contacting the MFC or the territorial body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
- through the Unified Portal of State and Municipal Services;
- through the passport and visa service.
