The State Duma spoke about the introduction of a tourist tax in Russia.
Starting in 2025, local authorities will decide on additional fees from tourists.
This information was shared by the RIA Novosti agency with reference to the law adopted by the State Duma.
As noted in the article, the tourist tax will replace the resort fee.
It is noted that the decision on its introduction falls on the shoulders of municipalities. The tax rates will vary depending on the season, but they cannot exceed or be lower than the maximum values set in the Tax Code.
Let us recall that in 2025 tourists will be required to pay no more than 1% of the cost of services for accommodation in accommodation facilities. Until 2029, the tax will increase by 1% annually.
The minimum tourist tax is set at 100 rubles per day.
