The State Duma has come out in favor of radical measures against those who like to give alcohol as a gift.
A State Duma deputy proposed punishing such an act with a serious fine.
State Duma deputy Andrey Svintsov put forward this initiative on his Telegram channel.
According to the parliamentarian, it is now necessary to actively combat alcoholism in the country. And therefore he considers such a step quite acceptable.
According to Svintsov, the gifting of alcoholic beverages should be punished as an administrative offence.
The initiator of these measures proposed to impose the following fines:
- individuals will have to pay up to 5 thousand rubles;
- officials will be subject to a fine of between 30 and 50 thousand rubles;
- In this case, legal entities will be required to pay up to 100 thousand rubles.
Svintsov also named an alternative to alcoholic drinks that would be better suited as a gift to anyone. According to the deputy, the best gifts are gym memberships or books.
