A new bill was introduced to the State Duma.
The document concerns online cinemas, which may be required to obtain distribution certificates.
RIA Novosti reports this with reference to the text of the bill from the Duma database.
It is noted that currently existing legislation does not require online cinemas to have a distribution certificate.
However, in order to unify the requirements for the screening of films, an initiative was introduced that could enshrine such a requirement at the legislative level.
Nowadays, audiovisual services called online cinemas have an ambiguous interpretation.
And the bill will eliminate this ambiguity, since it will establish at the legislative level the concept of screening, which includes, among other things, the showing of a film on an online resource.
Some films demonstrate inconsistency with Russian spiritual and moral values, which is why they do not receive a distribution certificate. At the same time, online cinemas can now show such films without even having one.
