But most owners of this miracle of technology usually underestimate its capabilities and do not even assume that in addition to heating food, you can cook a variety of dishes in a microwave oven, which, by the way, will be ready much faster than on a classic gas stove or in an oven.
This will save precious minutes of free time, which housewives who are busy with household chores already lack, and will reduce the time spent in the kitchen, but the taste of the prepared dishes will not suffer.
For example, potatoes can be a quick dinner. This recipe will help out more than once when there is a need for an appetizing, filling and quick dish.
To prepare it, you will need 6-7 medium-sized potatoes, 1 onion, 150-200 grams of salted lard with a slit, 2 medium-sized apples, 4 tablespoons of mayonnaise, pepper, salt, spices of your choice, 2 bay leaves.
Wash the potatoes thoroughly, peel them and cut into small cubes.
Take green apples, preferably sour ones, cut out the core with the seeds and, similarly, cut into small cubes or bars. Put the potatoes together with the apples in one bowl. To prevent them from darkening, it is advisable to pour lemon juice over them.
Cut the lard into thin strips of not very thick, it is desirable to cut the onion into half rings. Combine the chopped onion, pieces of lard, cubes of potatoes and apples, add salt, pepper, bay leaf, spices, season everything with mayonnaise, and mix well.
Use low-fat mayonnaise, as lard will add enough fat to the dish. Then put the whole mixture in a glass dish designed specifically for the microwave.
Before putting it in the microwave, cover it with a lid. After 25 minutes, the potatoes will be ready. After about 15-20 minutes, stir the dish so that the lard actively releases juice.
When preparing potatoes according to this recipe, do not use the "Grill" function under any circumstances, otherwise, they may turn out overdried.
The dish should be served hot.
