Scientists have discovered which types of people are most susceptible to developing colorectal cancer.
People with an apple-shaped figure were at risk.
Scientists shared these research results in an article published in the journal Science Advances .
The experts analyzed data from more than 550,000 people from the UK Biobank. The experts also analyzed samples from 800 donors.
It turned out that colorectal cancer most often affects people with a certain body type. The risk group included tall people with an "apple" figure, that is, those prone to being overweight in the abdominal area.
The study also showed that people who are obese often suffer from this type of cancer. Those who are overweight due to poor nutrition are at the greatest risk.
Both of these types of people have a unique genetic predisposition to colorectal cancer.
