An expert explained whether it is dangerous to use an electric scooter in hot weather.

Ksenia Erdman, Director of the Association of Micromobility Operators (AOM), shared a comment on this topic.

She said that the batteries of electric scooters are designed for temperatures up to 60 degrees, NSN reports.

When the indicator reaches a peak value, the work stops. The batteries are equipped with sensors that protect it from overheating or cooling.

Therefore, it is safe to use an electric scooter in hot weather. Several sensors monitor the temperature.

The AOM director noted that there is only one downside to using an electric scooter in the heat. The handles get hot in the sun, which can cause discomfort to the hands.

Erdman added that the electric scooter batteries are placed in special boxes that protect them from adverse environmental conditions.

If something happens, these same boxes will protect those around them, for example, from combustion processes.

Previously, experts told which drinks should be avoided in the heat.
