Cheese, Eggs, and Some Other Foods: What Causes Bad Breath

Everyone knows that onions and garlic cause an undesirable smell in the mouth.

The reason is the high sulfur content in these products.

In the case of garlic, it is also the substance allicin, which provides an intense garlic trail.

Chewing a little parsley can reduce the unpleasant smell. Vegetable oil can also bind odors. But it is impossible to get rid of them completely.

Eggs and cheese as sources of "aroma"

These products also contain a lot of sulfur and often provide an unwanted odor.

Especially sharp cheeses: if they end up on your plate, you can forget about fresh breath! But it is not only the smells and sulfur compounds in the products that cause an unclean odor.

The proteins they contain also serve as food for bacteria in the mouth - these are the unpleasant-smelling components.

Coffee with milk: a guarantee of unpleasant odor

Milk is a protein product, so it is not surprising that it also causes an unwanted heavy smell, at least in most people.

When combined with coffee, which has a very intense aroma inherent to it, milk smells particularly unpleasant. If cigarettes have been smoked, the smell becomes terrible.

Coffee lovers should always drink a glass of water after drinking the beverage.

Apples are also a good idea: biting and chewing loosens odor-causing deposits on your teeth and tongue. Chewing mint gum can mask bad breath to some extent.

Use floss after meat dishes

Meat and fish also contain a lot of protein, which contributes to bad breath. A particularly strong "aroma" appears if small meat fibers get stuck in the spaces between teeth - over time, an unpleasant odor develops. Therefore, it is best to brush your teeth and use dental floss after eating meat and fish.

How an alcoholic aftertaste is created

Alcohol is a factor in the stench and the same aftertaste. This is due to the fact that the drink contains fusel oils, that is, accompanying alcohols.

In addition, during fermentation, sulfur compounds are again formed.

As alcohol breaks down, waste products accumulate in the body, some of which are excreted through the lungs. All of this makes up the alcohol tail.

Bacteria on the tongue

The best way to prevent an annoying smell is mandatory hygiene. After eating, you should definitely brush your teeth and the spaces between your teeth.

It is also recommended to brush your tongue because most odor-causing bacteria are found on the back of the tongue.

If the problem is not under control, it is recommended to consult a doctor. Bad breath may be a sign of a disease, for example, in the esophagus and gastrointestinal tract. Inflammation of the gums can also lead to bad breath.
