Only the lazy have not written about the benefits of avocado.

This berry, which many consider a fruit, contains a lot of useful substances.

However, given the fact that avocados do not grow in Russia, there is a risk of purchasing either a completely unripe or overripe product in the store.

Culinary expert of TUT NEWS, chef and fourth-class baker Yulia Arkhipova will tell you what 3 signs to pay attention to when choosing berries.

3 Signs of a Ripe Avocado

First, inspect the fruit. Do not take a berry that has traces of mold or any other external damage.

And then check it for the following signs:

  • Firmness. A ripe avocado should be firm: too hard avocado indicates immaturity, while soft avocado indicates overripeness.
  • Skin color. It all depends on the variety: ripe Khaas has dark olive or brown skin, while Fuerte has bright green skin.
  • Color of the peduncle. The peduncle, including the part of the fruit that attaches it to the tree, should be bright yellow.
