Thin pancakes, or as they are also called “nalistniki”, are an integral part of Ukrainian national cuisine.
They can be eaten as a separate dish, dipped in sour cream, jam or honey, and also wrapped with any filling: red caviar, pate, fried minced meat, berries and fruits, cottage cheese, poppy seeds, eggs with herbs and much more.
Thin pancakes are a great breakfast for everyone, as they are very easy to prepare and absolutely everyone likes them, says Yulia Arkhipova .

These pancakes can be made with kefir, whey, water or beer, but pancakes with milk have the most delicate taste. We suggest you make ideal thin pancakes using our proven recipe.
Ingredients
To prepare thin pancakes with milk you will need:
- Flour – 3 cups;
- Milk – 1 liter;
- Lard – 1 piece;
- Granulated sugar – 3 tbsp;
- Eggs – 3 pcs.
Preparation
Pour half of the milk into a bowl and add the eggs to it.

While continuing to whisk, add sugar and salt into the bowl and whisk until dissolved.
Sift the flour and pour it into the bowl with the egg and milk mixture.
Beat the dough with a mixer at low speed until the flour is completely dissolved.
Pour the rest of the milk and butter into the bowl. Mix the dough a little more with a mixer to get a liquid and uniform consistency.
Place the frying pan over medium heat and heat it up very well.
Grease a hot frying pan with a piece of lard and pour one ladle of dough onto it. It should be distributed evenly.
Fry the pancakes on both sides until golden brown, then stack them on top of each other.
