Bananas spoil due to ethylene gas, which is released when they ripen. It is also released by other fruits, so bananas should be stored separately.

For the same reason, it is not recommended to store bananas in airtight packaging due to the increased concentration of ethylene in a closed space.

To keep bananas yellow and appetizing, cling film is perfect. You don't have to wrap each fruit entirely: just wrap the banana stem tightly.

Cool, dry places should be chosen for storing bananas. And before sending them for storage, it is necessary to divide the bunch into individual fruits.
