Azalea is a very capricious plant that requires special care.
Otherwise, the flower leaves may begin to dry out and the flowers may fall off.
Agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh explained which mistakes in caring for azaleas in winter can lead to the death of the plant.

Dry air
In winter, due to heating, the air in the apartment may be too dry.
However, for azalea this can be fatal, as it requires high humidity.
Therefore, it is not surprising that the flower withers if you do not pay due attention to this point.
In winter, it is especially important to regularly spray the plant with a spray bottle.
You can also place containers of water or damp cloths next to the flower.
During flowering, you need to ensure that water does not get on the flowers themselves.
Wrong place
In winter, it is strictly forbidden to place azaleas near radiators, on a windowsill or near other heating devices.
This plant is cold-loving and therefore does not tolerate high temperatures.
In addition, the flower also does not like drafts. Therefore, it is advisable to remove it from the window during airing.
Transplantation in winter
Replanting azaleas in winter is not the best idea, as this can also have a negative effect on the condition of the plant.
It is best to do this in the spring. Then during the summer period the flower will not only have time to take root well, but also to get stronger.
In addition, it is not advisable to replant the plant during the flowering period, otherwise it may die.
