As oncologist-surgeon Yulia Shubina told the publication “ FederalPress ”, if someone in the family suffered from oncological diseases, then this cannot be left to chance.
Most often, the oncologist emphasized, the following types of cancer are inherited:
- cancer of the female reproductive system, such as ovarian cancer, breast cancer, etc.;
- thyroid cancer;
- colon cancer and other types of oncology.
Therefore, if similar diseases were present in the family, prevention is necessary.
An oncologist advised women to take a special test that will help identify a predisposition to breast or ovarian cancer.
She also warned that after 40 years of age, it is necessary to undergo a colonoscopy every year. This is especially true for those patients who have polyps.
At the same time, the doctor emphasized that recently dangerous diseases have been identified at early stages, since the number of qualified specialists in Russia has increased.
