Scientists from Zhejiang University in China have stated that excessive consumption of fried potatoes can lead to depression.
It is emphasized that this type of food increases the risk of developing anxiety and depression.
The scientists shared the results of their research by publishing a corresponding article in the scientific journal PNAS .

The publication states: "Fried potatoes contain a lot of carbohydrates. They provoke the formation of a substance called acrylamide."
Acrylamide, in turn, is a carcinogen that aggravates various neurotic conditions.
Precautionary measures
Chinese experts have stressed the need to refrain from over-eating fried potatoes.
In addition, scientists have called for excluding chips, crackers and cookies from the diet, as these products are rich in carcinogens.
