Today, Friday, June 14, is World Blood Donor Day. It was created to honor those who donate their blood.
Thanks to donors, blood is given to people with oncological diseases, congenital pathologies, various burns, as well as those who were injured in accidents.
The FMBA blood center, located in the Russian capital, is visited by hundreds of donors every day. TASS reports details, citing the center's employees.
It is noted that after the terrorist attack that took place in "Crocus", an increase in the number of people willing to donate their blood began to be observed. The number of volunteers is still large.
It is also known that every day over 200 people come to the Blood Center with the aim of providing free assistance to other people and saving their lives.
World Blood Donor Day has been celebrated by people since 2005. It was established by the World Health Assembly.
