Psychologist urges not to give gifts “with a hint” on Valentine’s Day

An important holiday for all lovers is just around the corner – Valentine’s Day.

On this day, it is customary to give gifts to your significant other and delight them with compliments.

As reported by the Moscow Agency, Daria Vedmitskaya, a lecturer at the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy of the Faculty of Consulting and Clinical Psychology at Moscow State Pedagogical University, called for not giving gifts “with a hint.”

It is noted that such gifts include lecture courses, creams for getting rid of skin imperfections, and gym memberships.

According to Vedmitskaya, a partner may perceive such a gift as a silent reproach.

She also advised not to put a person in an awkward position, but to talk about your worries about your loved one openly.

In addition, the psychologist urged people to notice their significant other’s desires and write them down in a notebook.

According to the expert, unsuccessful gifts are souvenirs or items bought at the very last moment.

She added that for such a holiday it is better to choose something romantic.
