Many people sacrifice sleep for work, study or entertainment.
However, as practice shows, lack of sleep can have serious consequences for health .
In an interview with Moscow 24, physician and candidate of medical sciences Andrei Kondrakhin spoke about the dangers that come with lack of sleep.

Lack of sleep can lead to hypertension. When you don't get enough sleep, your body produces cortisol (the stress hormone).
In turn, constant stress increases blood pressure.
As a result, hypertension develops, which can lead to a heart attack.
Lack of sleep also causes chronic fatigue syndrome. This reduces productivity and worsens well-being.
Lack of sleep can cause neurosis, depression and psycho-emotional stress.
To avoid health problems, you need to normalize your sleep patterns.
Doctor Kondrakhin recommends sleeping at least eight hours a day, going to bed and getting up at the same time.
A regular sleep schedule, comfortable conditions, and the use of a mask and a heavy blanket improve its quality.
