Every woman wants to see her nails healthy, beautiful and strong.
Manicure, baths, creams and masks, taking vitamins - all this is certainly useful for nails.
But some actions performed automatically are very harmful for them. What are these actions?

The first of them, of course, is nibbling and gnawing. Alas, many have retained this habit since childhood. And the danger is not only that someone will see nails bitten almost to the base and consider their owner a slob. After all, what do many people do when they discover a hangnail?
They immediately try to bite it off with their teeth, instead of cutting it off with scissors. And biting off a hangnail is painful, and you can also get an infection. Such an act will not help your nails and the skin around them to be healthier.
The second wrong thing we do with our nails is choosing and using the wrong manicure tools.
With scissors, even the sharpest ones made of durable and high-quality steel, you can’t cut or trim a nail evenly the first time, like with tweezers. In addition, when using tweezers, the nail plate exfoliates and breaks less often.
Metal files? Forget about them once and for all. They are too hard, and using them to file the edge of your nails will definitely lead to splitting and brittleness.
Action number three - too much haste when removing gel polish at home. How many complaints that after removing the sticky layer of polish, the "native" nails become more brittle and break almost from a gust of wind...
But the issue here is not so much the “destructive” effect of gel polish on nails, but impatience.
The remover should be kept on the nails with gel polish for as long as it takes to thoroughly soften the layer. Then it will be much easier and safer for the nails to remove it, without using hard files and without damaging the nail plate itself.
The fourth action that harms nails day after day is neglecting protective gloves. Not every housewife puts them on her hands when she is going to wash dishes, do hand washing or wet-clean floors.
But powders, dishwashing gel or soap are alkaline products that have a negative effect on nails, making them more brittle, thin and weak. So do not forget about protecting your hands and nails when you are going to do your household chores.
Action number five - incorrect filing of nails. How do you usually move the file along the tip of the nail, giving it the desired shape? Back and forth? If so, then by doing so you unwittingly contribute to further delamination of the nails.
It is much safer to file your nails by moving the file strictly in one direction, and then carefully moving it along the already filed area from top to bottom in one motion. This will help seal the edge of the nail.
The sixth action that eventually leads to damage and deterioration of nail health is applying bright varnishes on "bare" nails, ignoring such a product as a base coat. But the base not only allows the varnish itself to last longer, but also protects the nail from coloring pigments.
Often women who often paint their nails with red varnishes note that their nails become yellowish and weaker over time. So you need to take a break from bright varnishes at least sometimes, and use a base underneath.
Action number seven - still be considered a supporter of the trimmed manicure. Trimming the cuticle with scissors every time is bad: it then becomes rougher, grows back faster, and cutting yourself during the procedure is a piece of cake.
Therefore, having soberly assessed all the disadvantages of edged manicure, it is worth switching to unedged. The end result looks no less aesthetically pleasing, and you save yourself from the risk of cutting yourself, getting an infection and harming the health of your nails.
And the eighth action, which is time to give up if you care about the health of your nails - their polishing. Yes, shiny nails look beautiful even without a layer of varnish on them, and they feel very pleasant to the touch.
But how is this achieved? During the initial treatment, you remove the top of the plate with a file, and then grind the softer layer. The mechanical action of the abrasive (even if fine and not rough) on the nails can lead to their deformation and thinning.
Want shiny nails? Paint them with clear polish and enjoy. It's much safer than constant buffing.
