The St. Petersburg court reported that the former chairman of the city's labor and employment committee, Dmitry Cherneyko, was taken into custody.
It is reported that the former official will spend 18 days under arrest.
The relevant ruling states: “The defendant is accused of carrying out fraudulent schemes,” as reported by TASS .
It is indicated that Cherneyko is charged with committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of Russia.
Case details
According to the investigation, from November to December 2019, the accused, while performing his work duties, stole 300 thousand rubles from the city budget.
The police explained that Cherneyko committed the crime together with his wife.
The above-mentioned financial resources were allocated for holding the job fair “Labor and Employment”.
It is indicated that the defendant and his wife do not admit guilt in committing this crime.
