The Prosecutor General's Office filed a lawsuit to have the owner of the Stolichnaya and Moskovskaya vodka brands granted extremist status.
According to the department, Yuri Shefler may be involved in extremist activities.
As RIA Novosti learned from a trusted source, Shefler may face confiscation of Russian assets, and the companies he owns may be declared extremist.

As the agency’s source noted, the Prosecutor General’s Office collected all the necessary information and filed a lawsuit with the Tambov District Court.
The defendants in the lawsuit include:
- oligarch Yuri Shefler;
- Amber Beverage Group Holding S.a.r.l. and Stoli Group S.a.r.l. (both registered in Luxembourg);
- SPI Regional Business Unit B.V. (Netherlands);
- JSC SPI-RVVK (Kaliningrad).
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, Shefler stole the Stolichnaya and Moskovskaya brands in the 1990s, and now wants to go to court to obtain the rights to them.
The vodka oligarch is also suspected of financing the Ukrainian Armed Forces and encouraging attacks on Russian territory.
Earlier it was reported that the court arrested Yuri Shefler’s distillery at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
