State Duma deputy Svetlana Bessarab spoke about whether a six-day work week will ever be introduced in Russia.
A member of the lower house of parliament stated that Russia will never take such a measure.
Bessarab emphasized that the introduction of a six-day work week would contradict the Labor Code, Lenta.ru reports.

The parliamentarian noted that Russia is moving towards progress and does not allow the use of aggressive measures in the labor sphere.
The Labor Code guarantees Russians protection from deterioration of conditions in the sphere of professional activity, Bessarab added.
But in the Russian Federation, the possibility of introducing a four-day work week is being discussed. The last time this issue was raised was in 2023.
Experts are assessing the consequences of such a measure. If the decision satisfies both employers and employees, then parliamentarians can prepare a legislative basis for this measure.
Earlier it became known that Greece was the first in the European Union to introduce a six-day working week.
