Weight loss on porridge is based primarily on the notorious buckwheat diet. After all, almost everyone who is losing weight knows about it: it is quite filling, but at the same time effective.

The only serious downside is that it is a mono-diet, meaning that it is not recommended to consume anything else.

Except for mineral water and, perhaps, green tea. It is difficult to maintain such a regimen even for experienced "weight-lossers", let alone beginners.

However, there is another opinion: porridge is primarily carbohydrates. Therefore, if they are not spent, they settle in problem areas: waist, hips, legs, arms, stomach.

It is not for nothing that children are fed porridge: so that they grow, develop and study calmly until lunch, without feeling hungry. As for adults, the requirements for them are completely different.

If a person has eaten a plate of rice or buckwheat, he is obliged to “work it off” by jogging, walking or doing other physical exercises.

In fact, the second option is wrong.

It is quite possible to lose weight on porridge, if, of course, you follow certain rules:

1. Do not add butter, sugar or full-fat milk. Also, do not cook with milk, but only with water. You can add it (some people prefer exclusively milk porridges, not with meat or cucumber), only low-fat, that is, no more than 2.5%.

2. Eat moderately (morning and lunch). It is not advisable to eat in the evening, because porridges are quite heavy. If you can conditionally "shake" them down during the day, then if you have it for dinner, there is a risk of spinning around without sleep for half the night.

3. Give up prohibited foods (sweets, salty, fatty, fried, spicy, smoked and starchy foods). That is, you can eat, for example, millet with milk or buckwheat porridge with boiled chicken. Or add a summer salad (tomatoes, greens, cucumbers and a boiled egg).

4. Do not stick to a mono-diet for more than three days, or better yet, opt for a fasting day. Buckwheat is best here, of course. It may not be cheap, but it is easily and quickly digested. It is acceptable to lightly salt it and add one piece of sugar (for balance). The rest of the time, it is advisable to simply eat right, eating porridge for breakfast.

Thus, the harm from this product may only exist for diabetics.

They really should eat according to their own program, which has nothing to do with regular healthy food. So there is no need to be afraid of the warnings of "good" advisers.

Alas, some even manage to convince that porridge makes you fat. Of course, if you cook it according to all the rules of the village genre, then this opinion is absolutely correct. That is, boil fatty cow's milk, add cereals, then throw in a huge piece of homemade butter and a few spoons of sugar.

The description itself makes you want to eat something sour to cool down all that sweetness and fat.

But with proper preparation (Lenten) it is definitely impossible to go overboard. And as for losing weight, it is usually slow, but effective (approximately 2-3 kilograms per month).
