"Worse to digest": experts dispel myths about breakfast foods that are considered healthy

Russian experts have listed the foods and breakfast dishes that are most harmful.

Sweet yoghurts, cottage cheese, low-fat dairy products and instant cereals were hit.

Experts from the Rospotrebnadzor project " Healthy Nutrition " shared their opinions.

Low-fat dairy products

Experts note that there is a curious paradox here: depriving foods of fat does not make them healthier.

The opposite effect occurs. The benefits of low-fat dairy products become much less.

For example, calcium in such milk or cottage cheese is absorbed by the body worse.

Muesli

Experts were quick to disappoint fans of this store-bought product. Often these mixtures contain too much sugar and fat, experts warned.

The downside of instant porridge is that it is ground too finely. This deprives it of most of its useful substances.

Gluten free products

Experts also recommended not to get carried away with gluten-free diets.

They said that gluten is not dangerous to human health. The only exceptions are cases of intolerance.

Experts pointed out that manufacturers often replace gluten with starch in products. It enriches food with fast carbohydrates.

Such products sharply raise blood sugar levels. They provide energy for a short time, so it is difficult to organize a diet with them.
