An expert has named the optimal daily number of steps that will reduce the risk of premature death.
Kirill Kalistratov, a specialist in organizing medical care, shared recommendations for people over 60 years of age.
On air at the radio station “ Moscow Speaks ,” he noted that much depends on the health characteristics of each person.

On average, people aged 60 to 70 years should take 6,000 to 8,000 steps daily.
After 70 years, this number decreases to 4.5–5 thousand.
This is the optimal number of steps that allows you to maintain your health at the proper level.
But walking is not the only thing that is beneficial. Cycling or going to the gym can be a great alternative.
If we talk about time, then on average you should spend 1 hour and 15 minutes daily on physical activity.
